Privacy and Cookie Policy

Thank you for visiting the Launchpad23 website and reviewing our Privacy Policy. Launchpad23 is committed to protecting your privacy and securing the personal information made available to us when you access our websites, applications, and other online platforms. This Privacy Policy describes what information is made available to Launchpad23, what information Launchpad23 collects, how that information is used, and how information is stored when you visit Launchpad23 websites or accounts on third-party websites and applications.

Information Collected and Stored Automatically

If you access information on our websites, Launchpad23, or a contractor operating on behalf of Launchpad23, will automatically collect and store the following basic information:

  • The name of the internet domain (for example, "xcompany.com" if you use a private Internet access account, or "yourschool.edu" if you are connecting from a university's domain);

  • The Internet Protocol (IP) address (a number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you are using the Internet) from which you access our site;

  • The type of browser and operating system used to access our site;

  • The date and time you access our site;

  • The internet address of the website from which you linked directly to our site; and

  • The pages you visit and the information you request.

Launchpad23 primarily collects this information for statistical analyses and technical improvements to the site to include creating summary statistics that may be used for such purposes as assessing what information is of most and least interest to the public, determining technical design specifications, and identifiable system performance or problem areas. The primary purpose of automatically collecting this kind of information is not to track individuals who visit this site, and Launchpad23 will not take additional steps to identify you using this information.

Commercial Marketing

Launchpad23 does not collect or use information for commercial marketing. Launchpad23 will send general updates to registered families about activities, events, registrations, new programs, and similar opportunities, but families may opt out of such general updates by contacting help@launchpad23.org.

Personal Information that You Voluntarily Provide

You are not required to provide any personal information to us to access information on our websites. If you choose to provide us with personal information, such as by sending a message to an email address on this website or by filling out and submitting a form through our website, we will use that information to respond to your message or to fulfil the stated purpose of the communication.

Sharing of Personal Information You Voluntarily Provide Directly to Launchpad23

Launchpad23 will not share information you voluntarily provide with other entities, except with such third-party contractors and applications as described in the next paragraph, and then only to the extent required to respond to your message and/or process your request.

Information Automatically Collected by Third-Party Websites or Applications that facilitate Launchpad23 business processes (Service Providers)

Launchpad23 maintains accounts with, and facilitates business functions through, third-party service providers of websites and applications. These third-party website and application service providers may themselves automatically collect and store additional information about you, in accordance with their terms of service and privacy policies. Launchpad23 does not control what these third-party service providers do with the information they collect.

Personal Information Voluntarily Provided to Launchpad23 on Third-Party Websites or Applications

Launchpad23 maintains accounts on third-party websites and applications, such as social media platforms. When interacting with the public on third-party websites and applications, Launchpad23 may request that you voluntarily provide information to Launchpad23 (for example, Launchpad23 may request your information to register for an event hosted by Launchpad23). These third-party website and application service providers may also collect the information you voluntarily provide, in accordance with their terms of service and privacy policies. Launchpad23 does not control what these third-party service providers do with the information they collect.

Use Caution When Voluntarily Providing Sensitive Information

Remember that internet communications are not necessarily secure from interception. If your communication is sensitive or includes personal information, you may prefer to send it to Launchpad23 by postal mail or other commercial carriers instead.

Children and Privacy

We believe in the importance of protecting the privacy of children online and do not knowingly contact or collect personal information from children under 13 without prior approval of the child's parent or guardian.  Unless otherwise stated, our websites are not intended to solicit information of any kind from children under 13 without prior approval of the child's parent or guardian.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) is a U.S. federal law that applies to the online collection of personal information from children under 13 years of age.

At Launchpad23, we go beyond the protections of COPPA by requiring that a parent or guardian enroll and set up Launchpad23 accounts for any child 17 years of age and under. To verify that a parent or guardian has granted consent, they will need to provide a valid credit card number during the enrollment process. Requiring credit card payment is a commonly used and accepted parental control method, so that parents have the chance to see the payment on their credit card statement, and to alert Launchpad23, if consent was improperly provided.

If consent was improperly provided, parents can contact team@launchpad23.org and request assistance closing their child's account, if created, and permanent deletion of any associated data collected about their child.

Once a child's account has been created, parents can request additional information about privacy, or assistance, from help@launchpad23.org

In such cases, to the extent feasible, Launchpad23 will provide a conspicuous notice written in plain language at locations where the public might submit such information;

  • Launchpad23 may collect and maintain information made available to Launchpad23 on official Launchpad23 accounts when required by law, or if the activity indicates a potential of physical harm or self-harm.

Certain Launchpad23 webpages also contain embedded content and applications from third-party website and application service providers. Launchpad23 provides embedded content and applications to further Launchpad23's ability to provide content of interest.

In addition to the practices outlined in the sections above regarding Information Collected and Stored Automatically and the Personal Information That You Voluntarily Provide, these third-party service providers also collect information on visitors who visit a Launchpad23 webpage hosting the embedded content or application. For more details on how and when these third-party service providers collect, use, and share information, you may wish to review their terms of service and privacy policies.

Any recipient of a Launchpad23 email may unsubscribe from future messages via a link at the bottom of each email message. We do not sell, rent, exchange, or otherwise disclose our subscriber lists to persons or organizations outside Launchpad23.

Our email analytics provider also offers the capability to view some data, such as whether a mass email was opened, at an individual level; as a matter of policy and practice this data is only viewed on an aggregate basis.

Links to External Sites

Launchpad23's websites may contain links to websites created and maintained by other public or private organizations. We provide these links as a service to visitors to our site. When you follow a link to an external site, you are leaving Launchpad23 and are subject to the privacy and security policies of the external site.

Security

For site security purposes and to ensure that this service remains available to all users, Launchpad23 information systems, and information systems operated by contractors on behalf of Launchpad23, employ software programs to monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to upload or change information, or otherwise cause damage.  Anyone using these information systems expressly consents to such monitoring and is advised that if such monitoring reveals evidence of possible abuse or criminal activity, such evidence will be provided to appropriate law enforcement officials.

Direct any questions about the Launchpad23 privacy policy to team@launchpad23.org for assistance.
