The Big Think. The Big Think is for our philosophers, debaters, and the perpetually curious! From timeless questions to curiosities of science, this is the forum for those that like to ask question and dive deep into the why of everything.

Welcome to Connect!
Connect is a FREE, weekly online opportunity
for your homeschooler to meet other children
with similar interests.
Below you will find our existing interest areas, but if your child would like to help establish a new interest area, let us know!
All of the interests meet in separate virtual rooms on the same call, so your child can decide each week what interest to attend!
Wednesdays from 10:30 - 11:30 AM Eastern
Entomology. If bugs don't bug your child, and in fact they have a not-so-secret love of them, have we got some new friends for them!

Build It. Does your child love taking things apart, and putting them back together, or building with bricks and other materials? The Build It breakout allows hands-on creators the opportunity to socialize while they build or take part in our extreme engineering challenges!

Chess. We have a weekly tournament playing either traditional matches or chess variants, depending upon the week and preferences of those participating.
Homeschoolers new to chess, or less interested in competition, also have the opportunity to play collaborative chess together against the computer.

Brush and Ink. A home for artists of all types to socialize while they create, share their works, and receive the support and encouragement that helps creative people accomplish their best and make the most of the journey!

Quest / Role Playing Group (RPG). Whether your child is a natural-born GM, or new to role playing games, they can campaign each week to wherever their imaginations take them!

The Enchanted Quill. Calling all writers! Whether your child has a manuscript waiting for beta readers, or needs inspiration and support putting their ideas onto the page, they'll find kindred spirits!

The Connect Rules

We want to be up front about our rules, so that everyone is on the same page. Here is a copy:

-
Consent. You must have parent permission, and a current waiver on file, to participate.
-
Be Nice. Treat others with respect, using language and behavior that would make your grandmother proud.
-
Privacy. You may not capture images from the call or chat, or record the meeting, as that would be a violation of the privacy of the other participants.
-
Cameras On. For safety reasons, your camera must be on, and you must be visible throughout the meetup.
-
Ask for Help. We will always have an adult on the call ready to help, so call them into your room anytime you need assistance.

That's it! We understand that kids are kids, and make mistakes, so know that if your child has an issue, we will work together with you to make sure it is handled in a manner designed to respect your child's dignity.
